Awake You said I would have you forever, the one constant in my life, my bedrock, solid, unshifting, eternal.

But when I woke today you weren't there, and the house was cold with the emptiness that comes from being left behind.

Oddly enough, I didn't mind it.

Perhaps it started when you met my Mother, "The daughter of Uncertainty? I thought you were only joking!", you never seemed quite comfortable that a house of cards and sliding mirrors should be my childhood home. "We'll find a nice place in the City." you said, "Steel beams and concrete floors."
